We're nearly a week into the campaign and we've crossed the 50% mark for funding. I know it may seem like slow going compared to some other campaigns, but we kind of expected it. I mean, quite a few people backed the initial project, the extra copies sold out in about two weeks time, and we've sold a lot of PDFs on DTRPG. All this means is that a lot of people already have a copy. We'll get the funding we need.
The Timeline
PDFs will be sent out for this book and for anyone who adds on a copy of Occam's Razor (see below) in mid-April. This is because, per Indiegogo, it can take up to 15 days for the funds to clear.
As for physical copies, we'd get the book as soon as funds clear (mid-April). Printing and shipping has, in the past, taken roughly a month. This means we're looking at mid-May until GMS Hobby Game Logistics receives the pallet of books in the UK. From there, they'll ship over a bunch for North America. This is another month because, while it only takes 12 days or so on the ocean, it's gotta go by truck to a freight consolidator, get added to a container full of LTL shipments, get loaded onto a container ship, and then cross the Atlantic. Once across, the same thing happens in reverse. Our experience has been a month.
This means if I'm keeping tracking right in my head, we're up to mid-June. Assuming nothing has gone wrong at any step along the way. And so we settled on August.
Occam's Razor
Did you miss out on Occam's Razor? Well, nows your chance! As a backer to this project, we knocked £5 off the price for you so just add it to your pledge and we'll send out the PDF with the NTotMV PDF (in mid-April) and the book...well, in the pledge manager that'll be sent out, you can always choose: ship it ASAP or save some money and ship it with NTotMV.
I think that's it for today. Oh, we added a Retail Pledge level, too, as a backer asked about it. If you're a retailer (and don't mind proving it), you can back at that level and in the pledge manager you'll be able to add on additional copies at a discounted price.
